I met Dottie at least a decade ago. She already lost her beloved son Stan, and was caring for her grandson Dylan. I showed up to give her a helping hand. In the end, I made a friend.
We often had country music on, so today I’ll leave these beautiful lyrics here for Dottie. ❤️
The lyrics of Vince Gill: Go Rest High on the Mountain:
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
So go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son

I attended Passaic Valley High School, Little Falls, NJ, with Dottie (Amento) Machuszek from 1953 through 1957; thereafter Dottie and I met regularly with a small group of fellow PV classmates from Little Falls, Totowa, and West Paterson (now Woodland Park) for almost 70 years, always keeping in touch, despite a couple of fellow classmates moving to PA and another to FL! We all shared so much with each other throughout all those decades; and through the years our kids even developed friendships with each other! The first classmate in our little group that we lost was Barbara Winkler Ward (COVID) who was originally from Little Falls and then moved to Totowa (not far from Dottie) after both Dottie & Barbara each had married. It's nice to know that Dottie had so many friends and relatives (including Barbara Winkler Ward) to welcome her to heaven. So we are left with countless wonderful memories of Dottie. I can recall when I was recuperating from an illness, years ago, of Dottie delivering a very tasty supper for me to help me recuperate -- she was indeed a fantastic cook, which we all benefitted from so very often!!!!!!!
Rest In Peace, dear friend, you will be missed greatly!

To my beloved Mrs. M! I will cherish all our times together forever. You were like my 2nd Mom, and I am so glad that we were so close and shared a bond like no other. I could talk to you about anything and everything! I can't imagine not being able to pick up the phone and call you! It still has not registered yet in my heart that you are gone.
You were always there for me and I hope I was there for you. I always thanked you for the gift of your son, our Stannie. I know you are at peace now, and re-united with Stan, Gram and your Dad, but 84 years was not long enough! I will miss you forever until I get there. I will always talk about you to Dylan, don't worry. He will never forget his "Gra" (Grandma). LOL Love you always, my Mrs M!
