Obituary of Bernard McNamara Jr

McNamara, Bernard Jr. age 93 at rest in Mountain Lakes on August 6, 2023. Dear husband of Diane (nee Johansky) McNamara and the late Mildred (nee Dooley) McNamara (1979). Loving Father of Kathleen McNamara of Denville, Bernard McNamara III of Clifton, Timothy McNamara & his wife Patricia of Rockaway, and Thomas McNamara & his wife Barbara of Clifton. Devoted grandfather of Andrea, Bernard, Timothy, Daniel, Steven, Dana, Thomas, Terence & Brandon. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Step father of Susan Chaberski & her husband, Tyler and their children Storm and Luke. Born in Paterson, he lived in Clifton for most of his life. He was a Chemical Operator for Givaudan Fragrance, Clifton for many years before retiring. Mr. McNamara was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Crooks Avenue, Clifton. He frequently attended the VFW Post #7165, Valley Road, Clifton as well as the Disabled American Veterans, Hazel Street, Clifton. His hobbies included playing cards and shooting pool. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday from 11:00 – 2:00 PM with a prayer service at 2:00 PM. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 23 Vreeland Road, Suite 105, Florham Park, NJ 07932 would be appreciated.
