Obituary of Francesco DiMitri

DiMitri, Francesco "Ciccio" age 91 of Elmwood Park at rest in Ridgewood on November 10, 2019. Beloved husband of fifty three years of the late and former Francesca Pernice (2015). Loving father of Philip DiMitri of Elmwood Park and Frank DiMitri and his wife Jody of Fair Lawn. Dear grandfather of Jessica Spano, Marc DiMitri, Vince DiMitri, Olivia DiMitri and Frankie DiMitri. Great grandfather of Elizabeth Autumn Spano. Brother of Francesca La Scala of Fairfield and the late Marco DiMitri (2017) and the late Diego DiMitri (2018). Born in Monreale, Prov. di Palermo, Sicily, Italy, he came to the U.S.A. in 1959 settling in Lodi before moving to Elmwood Park in 1965. He was a First Class Machinist for Servo Meter, Cedar Grove, for forty one years before retiring in 2014. Mr. DiMitri was a parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Lodi. Among other sports, he was an avid world soccer fan. He enjoyed the Jersey shore, Atlantic City, and traveling to Sicily, Italy. He was a craftsman and a jack of all trades. He was a great cook, and he loved to barbecue. He had an amazing work ethic, and he kept his house meticulous. He cherished time spent with his family and his grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Lodi at 9:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, North Arlington. Friends may visit on Thursday from 4:00 -8:00 PM.
