Vince and Family - I always regret not saying these words in this memorial when my friend or family member was alive. Somehow, all good intentions to visit or call go by the wayside for what we think are more important things. Vince and his brother were the older guys on our block - Washington Place. They had me and my brother Tony by a good fifteen years but we always looked up to them and our folks had a lot of respect for The Ziccardi's. They were on the paper route too - that big front porch where we leave the Paterson Evening News at the end of the day, the place we went Trick or Treating and where we were sure to get a sale of Christmas Seals and Pack 26 Cub Scout candy. The Ziccardis were always so kind to us.
Later on in life when we were adults, Vin and Terry were good friends. they always had an interest in what was going on in the lives of the Meccas and allowed me to play a special part in the lives of Joe and Rose as they got older but no less active. I would see Vin on the campaign trail and just walking the kids around the block and he always had a good thing to say about others - clearly a positive influence in my life.
Vince has left a great legacy to his daughters, their cousins and the grandchildren who keep on joining the family. He has also left a lot of friends and acquaintances who held him in high regard and will always remember his quiet demeanor, his pleasant smile and the good that emanated from him.

Thank you Mr. Ziccardi. You were our favorite Amoeba! 26 years later and I can still remember your voice and clearly recall your animated teaching style. I still enjoy science and share that with my daughters. Today I will teach them about Amoebas, in your honor.

There are so many memories that I don’t know where to start. I always remember Uncle Vin doing the right thing in every situation. Showing us how to act and behave without even meaning to. I grew up literally with a “model human being” to exemplify, look up to and strive to be. He had that amazing way to connect with anyone and put a smile on their face. I remember how proud he was that I went to Stanford, and how he would cheer for my school’s football team or baseball team just to support me. I remember his ability to recall an event to the date and time that happened >20 years ago. I admired his memory and his love for learning. I remember him telling me an interesting fact or piece of history. I always learned something new in his presence. I remember holidays, laughing, smiling, just enjoying life. I remember how much he loved the kids, and they all loved him back. He would tell me how beautiful they are and how proud he was of me. I remember everything. Every interaction with you was a great one. Thank you, Uncle Vin. Thank for teaching all of us to be better people and to strive for greatness. We love you and will miss you so much.

So sorry to hear this. He was a good teacher. Very animated and I always remember him putting his foot up on the garbage can and making us repeat..."the amoeba divides because of the size". He was memorable when he taught and I learned a lot in his class. He was also very professional and nice, approachable if we had questions and a good teacher. I had Mr. Ziccardi in maybe 1978 at Washington School in Carlstadt. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
