Obituary of Silvio J Bizzaro

Bizzaro, Silvio J. "Sal" age 92 of Woodland Park at rest in Woodland Park on March 8, 2019.

Born and raised in Paterson he spent over 40 years as a resident of Totowa before moving to Woodland Park seven years ago after his wife’s death.  He was a WW II Army veteran that was stationed stateside when his troop was sent overseas so that he could train soldiers on how to properly drive and maintain Sherman tanks. A lifelong electronic and science buff he worked for the State of New Jersey as a Radio Tech Supervisor responsible for the State communication bases and vehicles from mid to Northern New Jersey. Never one to get on a plane to travel, he and his wife spent many a road trip visiting car shows and historic sites.  Sal, on more than one occasion, could be heard saying, “I’ve had two great loves in my life, my wife, and cars!”

Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Florence (nee Affinito) Bizzaro (2011). Loving father of Elaine M. Giordano of Woodland Park. Devoted grandfather of Nicole Giordano-Anderson & her husband Andrew of Totowa, and caring great grandfather of Harper Drew Anderson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Phillip the Apostle Church, Clifton at 10:00 AM. Interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
