Uncle Sal you were always my favorite Uncle. Loving. Caring. Compassionate. I know you heart broke when Aunt Florence passed. It was never the same for you. I bet she was waiting there for you with open arms. Now you're home with everyone else that passed before you. It's not goodbye. We will all see you again someday.
Your Niece,
Bonnie

After I posted my original comment on Uncle Sal, I added a picture of him and I also commented on how he and Uncle Pete and Uncle Jim were "War Heroes. I don't think this website picked up my additional comment.
As much as Uncle Sal was so close to me, I wanted to acknowledge the true heroism of my other WWII hero uncles. Besides Uncle Sal, who trained "Tankers", I want to "brag" about my Uncle Pete and my Uncle Jim, both of whom saw "action" in WWII.
Uncle Sal and Uncle Pete would often spend Sunday mornings at my mom and dad's home. I was in awe as a young kid to be in front of men like Uncle Sal and Pete. Uncle Pete won the "Silver Star" for heroism for using his "brains" to defeat the enemy as a "Top" tank commander.
My uncle Jim was a nose gunner on a B24. My dad is also one of my personal heros in WWII. I'm so proud to have a family with members like Uncle Sal, Uncle Pete, and Uncle Jim, who helped save us from tyranny. God Bless my family.

Elaine, this is from Cousin Dave. I'd like to leave a private family reply if I may. Uncle Sal was my favorite uncle out of all. I've had many close uncles. Uncle Pete, Uncle Dan on my mom's side etc. But I had a very special connection with your dad. We were very close friends.
I know he looked forward to Sunday mornings at our homes. We all enjoyed his company. Sometimes we would purposely push his "hot button" just to get a reaction out of him. LOL. When we got him going, it was a blast. I love Uncle Sal.
I've already said a prayer to Our Lady so that he is now in Heaven with Aunt Flo. I'm going to try to upload a picture of him with a great smile. I hope the upload works. I'll see you at Festa. God Bless. Cousin Dave.

I am sorry for your loss and wish to extend my condolences. Death was never part of the equation that God had purposed for us. We were designed and created to live forever. He has promised to eliminate not only death, but all things that cause us any kind of pain and suffering. (Revelation 21:4) Soon the words regarding the resurrection found at John 5:28, 29 will take place and give us opportunity to welcome back our loved ones to a restored paradise earth and live forever. (Psalms 37:29) may these promise that are found in the Bible bring you a measure of hope and comfort.

The first moment I met Sal, he became part of my family. He told me many times how much he liked me, my strawberry Twizzlers, and my Buick! Always ready to chat or to tell a story of the past, he amazed me when he jumped into politics and current events one day. He was witty, smart and charming, and I loved him. I will truly miss him. Rest in peace with the Lord.
