I'm taking a chance. When looking for my Army buddies I thought of Bill. I'm sure he was with me at Ft.Hood Texas 66/67 1st Armored Div. We had many a good time together as tank commanders and when we went in the field together be bunked in tents together. He always seemed to get a goody box from home. One night after running problems in the field we came back in and the box in the tent was open and half eaten. I think we saw a raccoon dart from the tent. We both paused and debated who was going in to see if all gone. Laughed all night but Bill missed the cookies and things. He was a good man to be with and made our Army time fun. Sharing (pepsi) at the NCO Club on post. May the good Lord now bless and hold you close my friend. Rest in peace Bill, I have the watch. Many prayers and thoughts to all your family. Dearest Joanne ,Andrea & Brian & family, Condolences are amongst the hardest part of life, isn't it. No matter how many loved ones leave us. We are rarely prepared!! I feel we are not immune to the pain it brings. Death is inevitable, and I question why now. Why Bill. I remember speaking with him over the telephone in regards to Andrea's first born. Bill, I shared, it's Pattyann, DID Andrea give birth yet..This quiet soul of a man bursts out, yes, he joyfully says "Ruby". I shared Ruby, yes Ruby, she had a girl- our first grand daughter. I CAN hear the excitement and pride in his voice. Mind you, it's 9-9:30pm figuring Joanne will be home-nope, she's out exercising..lol you know Joanne never stops, he shared, I congratulated him and we hung up. I can still hear his voice as I share this moment with you. I will miss seeing him in his buster Brown tan suede laced shoes that reminded me of my parochial school days. A good man, husband, friend and father and proud grandpa, gleaming from ear to ear when visiting with him. My heart and prayers go out to all of you.My very dear friends.I love you, Pattyann xoxo

JoAnne...
I am so very sorry & had no idea of Billy's illness & your struggles.
I think about the days gone by...the laughs & good times we shared at so many carpenter dinners & get togethers. I'm just happy I got to spend a little time with you both at Eddie & Jean's last bonfire & will hold those memories close to my heart. Thinking of you, the family & sending my sincere sympathy...love, Bonnie
