I thought I had written this shortly after June died.... guess I didn't.
June was one in a million. I met her in the early 80's at School 25. She was the person I always went to when I needed anything, had a question about something, or wanted her opinion about an issue. Going to the administration was something I would never do unless it was absolutely necessary. I would always go to June first.
The last time I saw her was at Bed and Bath early 2018. We talked and talked and talked. I think about that last conversation from time to time. So glad I saw her that day.
I stayed after school so often..... till 5, 6, 7 and many times later. June always left the building after hours . One day she was passing my room around 4:30 and, of course, scolded me for being there so late. Although, she knew I was usually there late and she was ALWAYS there after hours. She told me that she had to get to cleaners before 5, so she had to leave!! I said," June, you are apologizing for leaving at 4:30?" She said, "Kathy, we should not be here late so often." I agreed... but we usually were. We laughed and laughed about that.
When June died, my daughter told me that she wanted to go with me to the wake for support. She said that she knew how much I loved June! I sure did.
I thank God our paths crossed. She was compassionate, caring, and so genuine!
I will never forget her. May her memory be eternal!

Please accept my deepest condolences. The following words have helped many to cope with the loss of someone special and dear. 1 Corinthians 1:3, 4 states "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us, in all our trial..."
Without a doubt, Jehovah God will help your family and friends in such a difficult time. In 1 Corinthians 15:26 he promises us that "the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing." I hope the family and friends can find some measure of comfort in his promise.

There are no words to describe the sadness for June’s passing. Her journey through life left footprints whatever she went. Footprints of kindness, compassion, inspiration, and joy. June was always there for me. She’s my hero! Her sense of justice and compassion were out of this world. Her advice was always bright and on target. It was an honor to have known her. I will always share how fortunate I was to have shared the precious time and memories of friendship. She will always be in my heart and mind.

June was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a vision of loveliness who was always gracious, kind and very intelligent. It was my pleasure and good fortune for us to become friends when we were both School Test Coordinators. This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship for a small group of six of us who have remained friends through retirement. June is a great loss and I will miss her greatly, as I believe everyone will who knew her. Knowing June was a gift.
My sincere condolences to Dennis, Lynne, James and the rest of her family.

To the Eckardt Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of June. She was a kind soul who was loved by everyone at school 25.
Whatever the problem was, June was there to see it through until it was solved. Always professional, always ready to listen.
She touched so many lives, and I will always be grateful for the help and guidance she gave me.
I was blessed to see her at Saint Joseph’s while my husband was there.
June left a great legacy. May memories bring you comfort in the days to come.

Dennis,
June is such a beautiful person. We feel as if you both are a part of our extended family. You always came to our family events (and there were many!) June always had a smile whenever I saw her. She always had a way to make people feel comfortable around her and make you feel like you could share your thoughts and feelings freely. There was a sense of calmness I felt when in her presence. She is a special person and I'm sure she touched many people's hearts as she quietly touched mine. She will be missed. I wish I had a chance to tell her these thoughts sooner. I am now going to make a point to tell people now how I feel rather than wait til later. God bless her.

Dennis--You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your wife June. I have never lived close enough to you to have gotten to know her as well as I would have liked to. But, I didn't need to be geographically close to her to recognize her kind heart. I will keep you in my prayers in the days ahead. And if I can be of any help or consolation to you, you have only to ask. Love, Cheryl

My Sincerest Condolences . You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I feel so blessed that I had a chance to visit with June two weeks ago. My husband happened to be at the hospital working when June came in and we were able to visit with her that night. We talked about how precious life is and how we should cherish every day and never take it for granted. Tomorrow is never promised. June you were a blessing to us all at School #25. I will never forget how you took me under your wing when I started 32 years ago, you were a God send. I will never forget we could always count on June for the sincerest words of encouragement during the most difficult of times. Your pain was June's pain. I am a better person for having known her.
Until we meet again June rest easy dear friend.
Love,
Linda Torres

June will be remembered for so many reasons. For her school friends and the School 25 community, June was our "Go To" person....the one who knew all the answers, offered sound advice, listened with a compassionate ear, made sure everyone was taken care of. She was always kind, carried herself with grace and dignity, had a stellar work ethic, and above all, was a friend to all. She was bright and cheery, even when she had reasons not to be. I cherish every memory I have of working with June over many years and later, of her out of school friendship. My sincerest condolences to Dennis and all of June's family. May you find peace in the difficult days ahead.
