The heartbreak of this loss is immeasurable. Michael was a kind soul, with a witty sense of humor. I find some comfort in my belief that Georgia was there to greet him on the other side. I know that dog was his heart and it makes me happy to think of them reunited in eternity. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends. Michael, and the impact he had on all who were lucky enough to know him, will not be forgotten.

I grew up and played baseball with Mike. I always admired him, and although we were never really close friends, I am so very, very sad that's he is no longer on the planet. Mike and I would have gotten along very well because I love many of the same things he did. God Bless you Michael, R.I.P.

John, Joanne, Mora and family;
My condolences and thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. Mike was an amazing man and a great neighbor.
I will always remember throwing the ball in the road at the dead end on Dunkerly and have him walk down to refine my throwing motion. His love for the game of baseball was contagious and I accredit my ability to him.
Having brought the animals to get groomed by my late-mother, to constant conversations about life, love and happiness, Mike will be missed for sure.
My sincerest apologies to all. Love to you all.

Saw the article in Parsippany Patch. My truest condolences to all, especially his two dogs. It is heartbreaking to lose this type of person from the world, since they are so rare and are so desperately needed. I, too am a kayaker and a huge animal lover and welfarist, with two blond-colored lab mixes that I take kayaking and on vacation with us. Never without them. I can relate, and disappointed I didn't know him as a friend. God bless him and the animals in his honor.

I had the honor and privilege to work with Mike for the last 3 years. I am shocked, saddened and tremendously hurt by his passing. He was extremely helpful and consoling with me when I lost my father about 6 months back. When we had a tough day at work, we could go to each other for a quick laugh and help each other through it. We hung out a few times out of work, went to some shows together, he even came to see my band play a couple times as he was a huge music fan like me. I wish I had the opportunity to have spent more time with him outside of work. He was a unique man, a hard worker, had an amazing sense of humor, and will be truly missed. I am very grateful for the time I got to know and spend with him. I am so very sorry to his family, friends and all who are struggling with this loss. My deepest condolences to all.

My sincerest condolences to the Vecchiarella family. I worked with Mike for a few years at AWC and I have to say he kept it interestingly comical. He and I shared a mutual love of music and quick witted sarcasm, I enjoyed his stories about his life experiences and how much he loved his fur babies, Bama, Sammy, Dewey and the love of his life Georgia, who he is now running with happy and free. Michael I hope you busted through those pearly gates with that Hollywood smile of yours and a rocking song in your heart. You are now free to rest in peace and will forever be everyone's eternal "Spirit in the Sky"....

I am sad and sick over the loss of a childhood friend. From playing in the streets of the neighborhood to PAL, and Scouts - Mike was always a friend. We lost contact during the high school years and there's been much time and distance. He found me online and reached out to me. It's sad that we could not get together in person. He showed me that all of what you read in his friend's eulogies is accurate, he was kind, caring, and considerate, and was a good friend to all. My deepest condolences to all, especially his family; Maura, and his mom and dad.
