De Sopo, Benjamin of Totowa at rest in Paterson on January 28, 2005. Devoted husband of the late Martha (nee Perrone) De Sopo. Father of James De Sopo, Joseph De Sopo and his wife Sally and Patricia Walker and her husband Elmer. Brother of Anthony De Sopo, Dr. Carmine De Sopo (former Assemblyman in Burlington County), Philomena De Sopo, Elena Coscia, Natalie Kalfe and the late Dr. Joseph De Sopo. Grandfather of Mary and Christine De Sopo. Also survived by 16 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. For more information go to www.festamemorial.com. OBITUARY Benjamin De Sopo age 80 of Totowa died Friday. Born in Tricarico, Italy, he came to the United States in 1954 residing in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1960. He was an Italian Language Teacher for Passaic Valley Regional High School, Little Falls, NJ for 27 years. He was also an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University for 15 years before retiring. Mr. De Sopo was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa, NJ. He was also a member of the Serra Club, Paterson, NJ. Preceeding him in death was his wife: Martha (nee Perrone) De Sopo Brother: Dr. Joseph De Sopo Survivors include: 2 sons: James De Sopo of Paterson, NJ Joseph De Sopo and his wife Sally of Wayne, NJ A daughter: Patricia Walker and her husband Elmer of Baltimore, MD 2 brothers: Anthony De Sopo of West Paterson, NJ Dr. Carmine De Sopo (former Assemblyman for Burlington County) of Willingboro, NJ 3 sisters: Philomena De Sopo of West Paterson, NJ Elena Coscia of North Haledon, NJ Natalie Kalfe of West Paterson, NJ Also survived by 2 grandchildren and 16 nieces and nephews. Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa is in charge of arrangements.
