Conte, Joseph age 93 of Little Falls at rest in Wyckoff on June 13, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Cecilia R. (nee De Phillips) Conte (1985). Loving brother of John Conte of Hawthorne, Ralph Conte of Columbia, MO and the late Addie Trongone, Anne Matonti and Armand Conte. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson he lived in Paterson for 27 years before moving to Little Falls in 1964. He was a History Teacher for Passaic High School, Passaic for many years before retiring. Mr. Conte was a WWII and Korean Conflict Army veteran. He served more than 20 years and retired as a Captain in 1961. He was awarded 2 battle stars in WWII. He attended the University of Maryland, Siena College of N.Y. and William Paterson University where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. He was a member of the Retired Officer's Association, William Paterson Alumni Association and the Retired Educators of Passaic County. Mr. Conte was also a Third Degree Knights of Columbus, Council #3835 and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, MOH's Stein Assembly. He was a Charter Member of UNICO and a former member of the Little Falls Rent Leveling Board and President of the Little Falls Tenants Association. He was a parishioner of Holy Angels R.C. Church, Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at Holy Angels R.C. Church, Little Falls at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Paterson. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, 140 Shepherds Lane, Totowa, NJ 07512 would be appreciated.
