Obituary of Sam Rizzo

Rizzo, Sam Sr. age 71 of Paterson at rest in Wayne on October 21, 2007. Born in Pittston, Pa he lived in Clifton, then in Paterson for most of his life. He was the owner/operator for Rizzo's Market, Paterson, which he operated with his wife and family. He met his wife at the Grand Union in Paterson, where they both worked, and eventually married her. He was an army veteran. Beloved husband of the former Mary Venticinque of Paterson. Loving Father of Rose Mary Rizzo of Paterson, Frank Rizzo and his wife, Sonia of Belleville, Sam Rizzo Jr. and his wife, Charisse of Rutherford, Kathleen Ruiz and her husband, Carlos of Paterson. Grandfather of Frankie and Kevin Rizzo, Carly, Lisa and Samantha Rizzo, and Kayla, Carina and Carlos Ruiz Jr. Brother of Ignatius Rizzo of Manchester, Maryann Sciortino of New Port Richie, Fl, and Sandra Gaff of Oro Valley, AZ, and the late Tina Petronchak. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
