Grandpa, I'm so mad that this happened. I really don't know what to say but the second you poop into my head I want to burst out crying. You made me the obsessive monster with the Mets that I am today and I always will be. You'll be with me everytime I watch or go to a game. I really have to stop writing. I love you with my whole heart. Visit me in my dreams.
Love,
Carly

For my dear father-in-law Sam, from the very first day I stepped into your house, I felt comfortable and part of the family because you and Mary, made me feel this way. I really felt like you treated me like another daughter of yours. I remember all the holidays we enjoyed with the family in your house and how you always made everyone feel special and welcome. You son Frank is following in your footsteps and treats us special like you treated all of us. Thanks for being so nice to me for all these years.
Love always,
Sonia

The Rizzo Girls posted a condolence
Dear Grandpa,
We girls have more to say but we don't know all the words to say how we feel. We don't want this to be real. We want you back but we are happy you aren't sick anymore. We hated to see you sick. We'll miss going to your house seeing you in your recliner and watching the Mets. We all love the Mets because you started it all in the family.
Please watch over us every day and reach out for our kisses. We want this to stop but God wants you up there. Grandma has a lot of love for all of us so she will give us your love but your love is in our hearts forever. I wish we had one more hug. One big hug, from our big teddy bear.
We are the only kids that could say our PopPop was a big teddy bear and gave the best hugs. We love laying on you. We love you.
You are my girls only grandpa and you gave them the love of two grandfathers. They never felt cheated. You made sure every single one of your grandchildren knew how much you loved them.
Love, Carly, Lisa, Samantha, & Charisse

dear grandpa, I love you! I miss you so much. You were the best grandpa I ever had. I remember how when we were little, we would be singing and dancing to Brittney Spears, and you would sing and do a little dance. When I was younger then that, I would sit on your lap and eat all of your escaroll. I miss you so much. I love you! I wish I could see you. I LOVE YOU POP-POP! Love, Lisa

In my heart you are my dad. The only dad I've had for the last 16 years of my life.
I don't know what to say or how to say how much you mean to me. I LOVED your laugh. I got a kick out or your endless stories. You and Sam could talk for hours about nothing and both look so interested in what you each had to say. I LOVED watching you with my girls. They are very lucky to have such a "corny" grandpa. I'll miss your marvelous singing voice more than you could have ever imagined.
I will deeply miss you. You and your "beautiful bride" are the real definition of true love.

Although I never met you, I know a lot about you. I know how much you loved your family, especially those grandchildren of yours...I know how much you enjoyed reading your Consumer Reports magazines.....I know how you liked sneaking candy to eat when you thought no one was looking....I know how much you liked to snuggle with Carlos Jr. in your lap...and most of all, I know much your family loved you. You will be greatly missed --- but certainly never forgotten.

Dear Grandpa I wish you were still here. when I know that you are no longer with me it makes me want to cry. you were a big part of my life. I remember when we used to come over the summer and you would take the food catalog and circle all the potato chips and candies so aunt Row-row would buy it for us. You always would make me laugh when the Mets put in Looper to pitch and you would say Looooper over and over again. You where the best grandpa in the world. Me and Frankie would go to sleep early in the summer just to see you the next day faster. You were a perfect mixture of kindness, toughness, love, and gentleness. Every time I watch baseball, I would think of how I wished I was with you and we can watch it together. One more time, one more day with you, one more conversation with you, would of meant the world to me. You raised my dad to be just as good as you and he can take care of when your gone. This family would never be the same. We can never find anything or anyone who brought as much happiness to the table as you.
Love always Kevin

Dad, there are so many thoughts racing through my head right now. I do not know where to start! If I can be just 1/2 as good of a father to my sons as you were to me, my kids would be the luckiest kids in the world. Can you imagine how lucky this makes me? Watching the way you always treated Mom like she was an ANGEL and so special to you, has also helped me become a better husband. You always made all of us feel special, safe, happy, and kept the house full of love. I remember all the vacations we went on every year, we could not wait and always had a great time. I remember looking forward to going to our store every Sunday morning with you, putting the newspapers together and than eating breakfast together before opening the store. I'm sure I complained many times about getting up so early but I would not give back even one of those mornings I got to spend with you. Dad, I want to thank you for always being there for me and making be a better person. Sonia, Frankie and Kevin will also miss you dearly and love you very much. The last few nights Sammy and I slept with you in the hospital holding your hand all night, talking to you while you were struggling to survive, were also very special nights for me. Even though you could not answer me, I know you heard everything I said and felt how much I loved you. By sleeping over with you, we were also able to see how well you were cared for in your final days. During your final days Dad, you had nurses punching out after their shifts were up and sitting with us in your room for hours. They just loved you! That's the effect you had on everyone who got to know you. Dad, just relax now, no more suffering, no more pain. You did a great job while you were here. Look at the "FAMILY" you created! We are strong, close and we love and look out for each other. Dad, leave the rest to us. We will continue take care of your ANGEL for you, our Mom who we love with all are hearts. We will also keep the family close just like you have done for many years.
Dad, can I ask you for one more favor? Ask God whats going on the our METS. Maybe you can straighten things out from up there.
I will miss you dad more than you can imagine!
Love always,
Frank

Dad, You were a caring, loving, but strong father to both of us. Always thinking of family first. You have taught us so much. We had so many special times, and thank God every day for having the chance to live right upstairs from you and mommy. We shared much more than most children can ever imagine. We had so many special times with you both being so close to us.We celebrated birthdays, Christmas'and our mini New Years Eve Bashes! We would not trade those memories for anything in the world. You were a strong role model to us all. We will never forget the unending love you showed towards us. Neither will our children. You are now in Heaven with the rest of Gods angels. It was sad to see you in your final days, but are relieved that your suffering has come to an end. May you rest in PEACE+You will live in our hearts FOREVER!!
