Kelleher and Rosemarie Goetsch. Brother of Jule Van Eykeren. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Trouse age 91 of Totowa died Sunday. Born in Brooklyn, NY he lived in Brooklyn, NY, and Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1944. He was the Owner/proprietor for D + J Packing, Totowa, NJ for 30 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Trouse was a volunteer at St. James Academy, Totowa, NJ. Mr. Trouse was a Charter and Honorary Member of the Paterson Old Timers since its inception and served as its president in 1958. He was the recipient of the Paterson Old Timers Sportsman Award called the Bill Harvey Memorial. He was the organizer of the Paterson Skating Club that developed many outstanding stars and brought countless titles to Paterson. He was also the club's president for 10 years and promoted both elementary and high school ice skating races for 50 years. Mr. Trouse was honored by the All Ways Athletic Club of Paterson and was presented with its Community Service Award for his contribution to the field of sports in the Greater Paterson Area. He was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame for his contribution to the sport of Ice Skating. Dom Trouse served as Chairman of the Old Timers Sports Hall of Fame and served in that capacity since its inception. He was a parishioner of St. James RC Church and helped organize the first Cub Pack for the church in 1947. He was a 19 year Trustee of the Totowa First Aid Squad and was a Commissioner for the Board of Health of Totowa for 16 years. Mr. Trouse was the Chairman of the Totowa Boro 75th Anniversary celebration. He served 3 years on the Citizens Advisory Committee of Passaic County for a better recreation in the County Park System. He served on the Racing Board Committee of the Middle Atlantic Skating Association from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Preceeding him in death was his wife: The former Marcella C. Kelleher of Little Falls, NJ Rosemarie Goetsch of Stillwater, NJ A sister: Jule Van Eykeren of Wyckoff, NJ Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
