Grandfather of Kim Nemecek, Charles Nemecek and Edward Ruzicka. Great Grandfather of Thomas Ruzicka, Peter Nemecek, Tyler John Chase and Courtney Jo Elle Chase. Brother of Albert Alfano and Gerald Alfano. Also surviving are many Nieces and Nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Michael's R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:30 AM. Interment will be on Thursday at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Cemetery, Ashford, CT. at 1:00 PM. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For more information go to www.festamemorial.com. OBITUARY Charles J. Alfano age 99 of Paterson died Friday. Born in Paterson, N.J. he lived in Paterson lifelong. He was a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Paterson for many years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Alfano was a parishioner of St. Michael's R.C. Church, Paterson, N.J. He was a practicing Lawyer for the N.J. Bar for over 50 years. He was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. He was a member of the N.J. and Passaic County Bar Associations. He was the former Magistrate of the Paterson Municipal Court and Chairman of the Passaic County Magistrates Association. He was a Magistates Delegate to the Judicial Conference of the N.J. Supreme Court. He was a former member of the Paterson Board of Adjustment. He also served as Attorney for the City of Paterson. He was a Grand Venerable of the Grand Lodge of the Sons of Italy, Paterson, N.J. He was a member of the Passaic County Commission for the rehabilitation of Alcoholics. He was a member of the Passaic County Traffic Safety Council and the N.J. Abstactors Association. He was a past commissioner of the Paterson Police and Fire Departments. Mr. Alfano was a member of the Paterson Zoning Board Commission and was a member of the Passaic County Bar Association. He was active in Fraternal and Charitable organizations. A daughter: Carole June Alfano of Wayne, N.J. 2 brothers: Albert Alfano of Ashford, CT. Gerald Alfano of FL. Also surviving are 3 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews. Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa is in charge of arrangements.
