Grandfather of Eddie and Michael Mayer. Brother of George Mayer and the late Elisabeth Gerwald. OBITUARY John Mayer age 79 of Totowa died Saturday. Born in Hungary, he came to the U.S.A. in 1950 settling in Paterson before moving to Totowa 40 years ago. He was a Machine Operator for Magnatrol Valve Co., Hawthorne, N.J. for many years before retiring in 1987. Mr. Mayer was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. James Council # 6574. Preceeding him in death was: His sister, Elisabeth Gerwald Survivors include his wife: The former Eleanor Grisbacher of Totowa, N.J. 2 sons: Edward J. Mayer of Midland Park, N.J. John G. Mayer of Willmington, DE. A brother: George Mayer of Haledon, N.J. Also surviving are 2 Grandsons and 2 Daughters in Law.
