De Prospo, Mary Kate (nee Messina) of Haledon at rest in Lincoln Park on August 31, 2005. Beloved wife of the late Louis De Prospo. Mother of Leonard De Prospo and Elizabeth Betty Pomponio. Sister of Betty Guarnaccia, Rose Cropanese and the late Al, Sal, John, Joe, Andy and Jean Messina. Grandmother of Lisa De Prospo and Gina Marie Guabello. OBITUARY Mary Kate (nee Messina) De Prospo age 91 of Haledon died Wednesday. Born in Brooklyn, NY she lived most of her life in Paterson before moving to Haledon 27 years ago. She was a Laborer for a candle factory in Paterson, New Jersey before retiring. Prior to that she worked for Banner Plastic for many years. Preceeding her in death was her husband: Louis De Prospo, 5 brothers, Al Messina, Sal Messina, John Messina, Joe Messina, and Andy Messina, and 1 sister, Jean Messina Survivors include: A son: Leonard De Prospo of Haledon, N.J. A daughter: Elizabeth Betty Pomponio of Little Falls, N.J. 2 sisters: Betty Guarnaccia of Wayne, N.J. Rose Cropanese of West Paterson, N.J. Also survived by 2 grandchildren.
