Funk, Harold J. of Paterson at rest in Wayne on November 12, 2004. Beloved husband of Ann Smith (nee Lamping) Funk. Father of Mary Ann Lutz, Dena Gawley, Dianne Fiorilla, Robert Smith, Roger Smith and James Smith. Nephew of Edna Funk. Surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his 1st wife, Theresa (nee Barrise) Funk. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For more information go to www.festamemorial.com. OBITUARY Harold J. Funk age 91 of Paterson died Friday. Born in Paterson, NJ he was a lifelong resident of Paterson. Mr. Funk was a Postman for the Paterson Post Office, Paterson, NJ for 42 years before retiring. He was a World War II Army veteran and received the Purple Heart Award, World War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Defense Service Medal and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson and a member of its Senior Citizens Club. He was also a member of the N.A.R.F.E. (National Association of Retired Federal Employees), Paterson Chapter. Preceeding him in death was his 1st wife: Theresa (nee Barrise) Funk Survivors include his wife: Ann Smith (nee Lamping) Funk of Paterson, NJ 3 daughters: Mary Ann Lutz of Parsippany, NJ Dena Gawley of Wall Twsp, NJ Dianne Fiorilla of North Haledon, NJ 3 sons: Robert Smith of Wayne, NJ Roger Smith of Pompton Lakes, NJ James Smith of Wayne, NJ Also survived by 1 aunt and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa is in charge of arrangements.
