Romeo, Alfred Fred (former N.J. Handball Champion) of Paterson at rest in Wayne on September 19, 2004. Beloved husband of the late and former Rose Mistretta. Father of Rosalind Delli Santi, Francine Romeo and Dominic Romeo. Grandfather of Rosalie Romeo and Hugo Zaledzieski Jr. Brother of Ida Vitale and Joseph Romeo. OBITUARY Fred Romeo age 79 of Paterson died Sunday. Born in Paterson, N.J. he was a lifelong resident of Paterson. He was a Firefighter for the Paterson Fire Department, Paterson, N.J. for many years retiring in 1986. He was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of the V.F.W. of Franklin Lakes. He was also Past President and member of the Paterson Old Timers Athletic Club. He was also a Board member for the Paterson YMCA. He was the former N.J. State Handball Champion. He was pre deceased by his wife the former Rose Mistretta. Survivors include: 2 daughters: Rosalind Delli Santi of Pompton Plains, Pequannock Twsp. N.J. Francine Romeo of Rockaway Twsp. N.J. A son: Dominic Romeo of Paterson, N.J. A sister: Ida Vitale of Ocean Gate, N.J. A brother: Joseph Romeo of Pennsylvannia. Also surviving are 2 Grandchildren.
