Band, Gerald T. "Jerry" age 69 of Totowa, died peacefully at home after a long illness on August 31, 2012. Born in Buffalo, NY, he lived in Paterson before moving to Totowa 49 years ago. He was a Construction Superintendent for Sparrow Construction, Bronx, NY for 15 years before retiring in 2005. Mr. Band was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed trips to the Finger Lakes in New York State. Beloved husband of the former Carmella "Cookie" Tummino of Totowa. Dear son of the late Helen Cardonell. Son in law of the late Charles and Josephine Tummino. Brother of Charlotte Van Alstyne & her husand, David of West Milford. Brother in law of George Tummino of Morris Plains. Cousin of Ralph Studio & his wife, Mary Sue of Totowa. Also survived by his Beloved Pet, Max, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
