Though Gertraud, you and I have never met, there are many ways I am grateful for your being. They all begin with smiles. I now see you for the first time and the warmth that is your smile is what I felt the first time I met your family. Your grandaughter Alexandra, such a mature soul in a very young person. Her understanding is beyond her years. She is a dear sweet young lady. A true mature good soul. Hala and I became fast friends immediately when we met and I treasure our friendship and the moments, though few in our busy lives, that we share. I smile with the thought of Karl and his family.
