Father of Diane Book and her husband Peter, and Vincent Pombo and his wife Donna. Grandfather of Jamy Beth Pombo, Tracy Dawn Schramm and Jessica and Christopher Book. Great Grandfather of Kayla Schramm. Brother of William Pombo and the late Joseph, Michael, Louis Pombo and Antoinette Coiro. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Pombo age 86 of West Paterson died Sunday. Born in Paterson, he lived there before moving to West Paterson in 1963. He was a Construction Foreman for Bomar Corporation, Fairfield, NJ for many years before retiring in 1984. Mr. Pombo was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii, Paterson. He was a member of the Italian American Progressive Club, Elmwood Park. He belonged to the Laborers International Union of North America, Local #592, Fort Lee, NJ. Mr. Pombo was a World War II Army, Air Force veteran and received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippines Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Medal. Preceeding him in death were: 3 brothers: Joseph, Michael and Louis Pombo A sister: Antoinette Coiro Survivors include his wife: The former Joann Vigorito of West Paterson, NJ A son: Vincent Pombo of Montville, NJ A daughter: Diane Book of Pine Brook, NJ Also survived by 4 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
