Pombo, John M. of West Paterson at rest in Paterson on December 18, 2005. Beloved husband of Joann (nee Vigorito) Pombo. Father of Diane Book and her husband Peter, and Vincent Pombo and his wife Donna. Grandfather of Jamy Beth Pombo, Tracy Dawn Schramm and Jessica and Christopher Book. Great Grandfather of Kayla Schramm. Brother of William Pombo and the late Joseph, Michael, Louis Pombo and Antoinette Coiro. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. OBITUARY
John M. Pombo age 86 of West Paterson died Sunday. Born in Paterson, he lived there before moving to West Paterson in 1963. He was a Construction Foreman for Bomar Corporation, Fairfield, NJ for many years before retiring in 1984. Mr. Pombo was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii, Paterson. He was a member of the Italian American Progressive Club, Elmwood Park. He belonged to the Laborers International Union of North America, Local #592, Fort Lee, NJ. Mr. Pombo was a World War II Army, Air Force veteran and received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippines Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Medal.
