Guzik, John S. of Totowa at rest in Wayne on June 16, 2003. Devoted husband of the late Dorothy G. (nee Galfione) Guzik. Brother of Irene Guzik, Sophie W. Pohl, Jane Jazwinski, Helen Jakubowski, Alice Welch, Eleanor Waszak, Stella Cleaver, Edmund Guzik, Chester Guzik and the late Anna Guzik and Otto Guzik.Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Boulevard, Totowa, on Friday at 10:00 am. A Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Guzik age 83 of Totowa died Monday at St. Josephs Wayne Hospital. Born in Paterson, NJ he lived in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1954 then to Pittsburgh in 1963 for 20 years then back to Totowa. He was an Engineer for American Bridge Company, NY And Pittsburgh, PA. for about 40 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Guzik was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa, NJ. He was a WW II Marine Corps Veteran 1st Marine Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post #227. He was a member of the V.F.W. He received several Purple Hearts. He was the Health Commissioner for the Borough of Totowa for 20 years. He was a Golden Glove Boxer. Preceeding him in death was His wife, Dorothy G. (nee Galfione) Guzik, a sister, Anna Guzik and a brother, Otto Guzik. Survivors include 7 sisters: Irene Guzik of Paterson Sophie W. Pohl of Totowa Jane Jazwinski of Totowa Helen Jakubowski of Staten Island Alice Welch of Chula Vista, CA Eleanor Waszak of Staten Island Stella Cleaver of Peoria, Arizona 2 brothers: Edmund Guzik of Pompton Lakes Chester Guzik of Rockaway Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
