Lydia Cruz (nee Garcia), age 80 at rest in Paterson on December 31, 2024. Lydia was predeceased by her parents Justino Garcia and Providencia Cruz in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. Beloved wife of the late Juan Fernando Cruz (2011). Loving mother of Ilia I. Delgado and Maritza Perez and her husband Jorge Luis. Grandmother of Clarissa I. Perez, Kiara E. Perez and Brianna E. Soto. Great-grandmother of Isabella J. Rodriguez and soon to be born Catalina I. Sanchez Soto. Sister of Luz Delgado, Carmen Velasquez, Jose Manuel Garcia, Miguel Garcia and the late Guillermina Garcia, Alejandro Garcia, Eduardo Garcia, Josefina Garcia, Cruz Garcia and Julio Garcia. She came to the United States in 1959, ultimately residing in Paterson. She was a former parishioner of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson. As the matriarch of her family, she was a loving and dedicated homemaker. Her greatest joy was taking great care of all her loved ones through conversation, laughter, and food. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Saturday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. John's Cathedral, Paterson at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Paterson. Friends may visit Friday 4-8 PM.
