I am so sad to read the loss of this wonderful man.Allen was the BEST. I grew up in Totowa and Allen was so energetic, kind to everyone. He literally had a heart of gold. One day my dog was hit by a NJ Bell truck and just left the scene (Shepherds Lane). Allen came to help me he put a sheet under my dog who was a fairly large German Shepherd and we lifted her out of the street. My dad came home soon after and he thanked Allen. I never forgot his kindness and quick thinking that day. This was like 46 years ago and I remember his act of kindness like it was yesterday. For years I thanked him when ever I came back to Totowa to visit. Heavenly Father you received a beautiful Angel take care of him. He was one of the best souls , I have ever known. My deepest condolences to his family.

I am saddened by the news of Allen’s passing. Allen’s love for animals was instrumental to me when trying to rescue a kitten stuck in a sewer drain in Totowa years ago without hesitation. Coming into my store he always had a smile and made my day. I am so very sorry for your loss, Peggy. Know that you, and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace, my friend. We’ll see you again…
