Fitzgerald, Norma E. (nee Barone), age 91 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on December 2, 2024.  Beloved wife of the late Francis W. Fitzgerald (2003) and predeceased by her son Martin Fitzgerald (2008), and her brothers Martin Barone, Texas and Robert Barone, Woodland Park.  Loving mother of Michael Fitzgerald of Morristown, Coleen Fitzgerald Brophy and her husband Tom of Totowa, Robert Fitzgerald and his wife Dee of Penn Yan, NY, Carolyn Fitzgerald Schnitter and her husband Steve of Dacula, GA, Kevin Fitzgerald and his wife Rebecca of Wantage.  Dear daughter of the late Martin and the late Lillian (nee Scrudato) Barone.  Adoring grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Born in Newark, she lived in Belleville before moving to Totowa in 1958.  She was a municipal employee for the Borough of Totowa, Building Dept., for many years before retiring in 2014. She was also a secretary for the FBI, Newark. Norma’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was their biggest fan and each of them were the apple of her eye. Norma was a woman of great faith and devotion, always with her rosary beads in hand. According to her grandchildren, her crowning achievement was being voted “best legs” in her high school yearbook. Simple things in life brought Norma joy, like being surrounded by family and friends with a glass of merlot in hand, always enjoying a good party. Norma’s legacy will live on in the love of her family who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM.  Entombment at Laurel Grove Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa.  Friends may visit Sunday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the DePaul Catholic High School Sister Patricia Flarity Memorial Scholarship Fund, would be appreciated.
