In loving memory of my uncle, who lived a remarkable life. He created so much for his entire family, and cared about his nieces and nephews dearly. His pride in his Italian heritage and commitment to family have left a lasting legacy. I cherish my memories of traveling with him to Civitella, seeing our history through his eyes. His kindness and wisdom will always guide me - especially if I have to drive in the dark or in the snow (which he never wanted me to do!). He will be greatly missed, but I take comfort in his reuniting with Uncle Tony, Aunt Louisa and my Grandpa in heaven.

They don't make much better than Vilmo. From my first day in the office, he made me feel like part of the family. That's the kind of guy he was. Caring, compassionate and genuine. You can talk to him about anything, the crazy real estate business, politics, food, wine and life in general. I will always treasure our talks and will carry his wisdom with me forever. Rest In Peace Vilmo. You are sorely missed and forever in our hearts.

Dear Hennie, Diane, Tom, Lucille, Elaine, Tony and Matthew!
We will always remember the fun times, delicious meals and talk of Civitella Alfedena on our Sunday visits to Patterson and Totowa, growing up in NY. We always felt the love of family when we were with you all! Love from your DeJulia cousins.❤️

To the DiPoalo Family - it is a with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of a great man. To me, Vilmo represents the quintessential American dream - an educated immigrant who came to America to marry a wonderful, loving Henrietta, and raised three fine young women - Diane, Elaine and Lucille. He worked hard, established his own business and was a financial success. More importantly, Vilmo was not only a committed family man but he was a fine public servant in so many volunteer capacities, many of which are mentioned in this obituary. Little did the public know, however, was how generous a man he was, lending his ear and advice to friends like me when I first started in practice and public service. Vilmo always had gentle advice and with his kind, gentle and endearing Italian accent, offer soft-spoken advice in so many ways - how to proceed professionally, politically and as an aspiring businessman. I would think many people I know were the beneficiary of his kind words and direction as well. Vilmo lived the American dream and profited so well in his business and government life. But more importantly, he was the giver, the advisor, the guiding hand and the generous benefactor of his time, his commitment and his love for the church and community he served. Vilmo, you were a great inspiration to many. We bid you farewell - a life worth living. Thank you.

Dear Henrietta, Diane, Elaine, Lucille, Tom, Tony and
Matthew,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Vilmo's love for all of you was palpable. He was so proud of his family, his Italian Heritage and the real estate company that he owned. I admired his intelligence, generosity, kindness, appreciation of good food and wine and his sense of humor. He was a special person and leaves a legacy to be honored. He will be missed by all of us as he joins Luisa, Angelo and Tony. May he rest in peace.
