Born in Englewood, NJ, raised in Paterson. He graduated from Paterson County Technical and Vocational HS in 1966. He started and played guitar in a band called The Vibratones after HS with his friend Michael Romanik.

After HS he went immediately went to work for Riggilo Architect in Clifton and attended classes at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He was actively a member of AIA (Architect League of Northern NJ). Of all his accomplishments he went on to be the most famous for the Concession Stand at Wayne Hills HS. Where we believe Wayne Valley stole the plans to build a replica!

He met his wife Patricia (Pat) McGuinness through her cousin. They dated for a couple years and got engaged on the beach in Lavalette where he dropped the ring in the sand and they had to hunt for it. It was true love.

They married on June 21, 1969 at St. Mary's Church in Paterson. They shared 49 years together before the passing of Pat. They had 3 children, Jennifer, Louis and Michael.

Lou found pleasure in his boat and was affectionately called Captain by his family. He and Pat enjoyed being on their boat from April until October. They enjoyed sailing in the Long Island Sound and as far as Martha's Vineyard.

Lou is survived by his daughter, Jennifer DiPompeo and husband Joe of Mountain Lakes; his son Michael and fiance Katie Yanke of West Milford; and daughter in law Kathleen of Boonton Township.
