Muñoz, Lucila, age 101 of Totowa at rest in Paterson on September 28, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Luis Ruiz (2000). Loving mother of Consuelo Ruiz, Marina Pratts, Olga Ruiz, Lilia Goyeneche, Libia Llamoca, Beatriz Bullock, Alvaro Ruiz, Guillermo Ruiz, Carlos Ruiz and the late Augusto and Alberto Ruiz. Dear sister of Jesusmaria, Ramiro, Josevidal and Laura. Also survived by twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Born in El Carmen, Columbia, she came to the United States in 1989, residing in Paterson, before moving to Totowa. She was a Homemaker. She was known for her unwavering faith and dedication to helping others, Lucila worked tirelessly alongside her friends to raise funds for the construction of her neighborhood church in El Trianon, Colombia. She also had a very strong and positive character, who enjoyed traveling, knitting, long walks, hikes, and gardening. In her later years and after her health started failing, her regular prayer before going to bed was "God, I know that tomorrow is going to be a better day." Her collaborative spirit and commitment to her faith inspired many, leaving a lasting impact on the lives she touched. Lucila's kindness, generosity, and passion for service will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. A memorial visitaion will take place at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Friday from 12:30-3:30 PM, with a prayer service at 3:00 PM.  A Memorial Mass to follow at St. Johns Cathedral, Paterson at 4:00 PM. Cremation was private at the request of the family.
