Sanchez, Hector J. age 87 of Haledon at rest in Haledon on July 24, 2024. Beloved husband of Lucy (nee Madiedo) Sanchez of Haledon. Loving father of Martha Sanchez of Colombia, Hugo Sanchez of Spain, Henry Vasquez of Colombia, Sandra Sanchez of Queens, NY, Marvel Vasquez of FL, Jose Vasquez of Hackensack, Lucy Ruiz of Nutley, and Carrie Sanchez of Paterson. Born in Cali, Colombia he lived in Colombia for over forty years before immigrating to the United States. Upon arriving he settled in Paterson before moving to Prospect Park then Haledon. He was a plumber for the Paterson Board of Education for 30 years before retiring in 2017. Hector enjoyed spending his time fishing and scuba diving. He loved airplanes and his favorite place to go was Home Depot. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Crest Haven Memorial Park, Clifton. Friends may visit Saturday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
