Obituary of Barbara A Ridgeway

Ridgeway, Barbara A. "Barb" (nee Kay), age 81 of Medford at rest in Medford on June 29, 2024. Beloved wife of fifty years to the late Eugene "Gene" Ridgeway (2017). Loving mother of Kimberly A. Armellino and her husband John of Marlton and Pamela J. Niglio and her husband David of Marlton. Dear grandmother of Aidan Armellino, Katie Armellino, Kelsey Niglio and Megan Niglio. Sister of Robert Kay of Tampa, FL. Aunt of Brigitte Kay, Sarina Sinclair and Devin Kay. Also surviving is her beloved pet dog, Rosie. Born in Paterson, she lived in Wyckoff, then in Totowa for most of her life before moving to Medford in 2018. Barb was a Kindergarten School Teacher for the Totowa Board of Education, Washington Park School for thirty two years before retiring in 2004. Barb was very passionate about teaching and deeply cared for her students and their families. Sometimes she would remain at the school until 7:30 PM. She was a member of the NJEA. She was a parishioner of both St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson where she volunteered for many things as well as being a volunteer for the Little Sisters of the Poor in Totowa. Barb was a member of the Wyngate Singers and a member of Woman of Wyngate, both in Medford. Barb enjoyed the Jersey shore and loved to travel. She was always very well put together and she enjoyed tending to her vegetable and floral gardens. Family was everything to her and she loved to celebrate family with her four course meals and her famous pistachio cake, and cherished any time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
