Debbie I have many happy memories of you from my childhood. You always welcomed me into your house with open arms and a warm smile. I remember my mom telling me stories about you from when we were kids. They were always stories about ways you showed kindness and love. You really did have a heart of gold. I will never forget the hug you gave me at my mom's wake. You looked at me and we both had tears in our eyes, but your hug was so comforting. You always had kind words to say and your Facebook messages and posts put a smile on my face. I have no doubt that you were welcomed with open arms at the gates of Heaven. May your bright light continue to shine down on your family and friends. Rest in the sweetest peace.

I will always remember the fun, love and support Mrs P gave me while growing up. I was honored to have her at my wedding in 2021 continuing her love and support! I will forever see deer and rainbows and think of her! I especially will hold onto the text message I have from Mrs P after sending her a picture and video of a deer on from front lawn. I love you so much Mrs P!!

My condolences to the family in this time of loss. But one of my memories of Debbie is of her coming to Kinney Shoes at back to school time with all the kids getting them set for the year of school. I was the salesman and she was the best mom giving the kids whatever they needed. She was a wonderful woman and always asked how I was doing with my medical situation. May she RIP and be with her husband and son. Until we meet again.

I am still in shock. Deb has stuck her neck out for me in ways I cannot even imagine. She was a paragon; a symbol of light; the nucleus of the family. She was mom to everyone. Aunt Debbie was one-of-a-kind and was like a second mom to all of us over the years. There are countless great memories from her cleaning out a scrape I got falling off a bike while riding around Totowa with my cousins, to all the incredible parties, to hanging in the house with all the animals as if it were a zoo. She thought of everyone always and would never forget to send a card for every occasion. She will be missed greatly.

I remember Debbie. I was in high school with her. She was sweet and kind and just full of life. I have not seen Debbie in all these years but I'll tell you I felt like I known her everyday on Facebook. I watched all the beautiful things she Posted of her children grandchildren all the fun, loving things she did all the rainbows over her house and the stars in the sky. I was so crushed when I heard this news. You would have thought she was my best friend every day all these years. That's how it affected me. She was full of love and definitely a bright light. To her family, keep Watching for those rainbows because she will be sending you lots. She is your angel❤️❤️ She made the world a better place!!!!!

She was the most precious dog. Sadly we lost her in December due to a heart tumor. Debbie would always comment on our facebook post with our children or the dog. I felt like we knew her well. Where to begin... I remember when my Uncle Gary was dating Aunt Debbie and I had the honor of being their toothless flower girl at their wedding. We visited often and I loved going to Apollo Cards and Gifts Shop as I would hop behind the counter and help bag for the customers as a young kid and then eventually worked there on weekends while home in the summers from college. Aunt Debbie and Uncle Gary were always a big part of my life and when we lost Uncle Gary was a shock, I always made sure that I sent Aunt Debbie a Thinking of You card every year since his death around their anniversary so she knew I was thinking of her at such a hard time. When Cousin Gary passed, it was another family shock and I always tried to send Aunt Debbie cards and always chatted with her on the phone. Since I retired from teaching in June 2021, Aunt Debbie and I always chatted on the phone at least 2-3 times a week and I was constantly sending her cards and pics of my creations as she was one of my biggest fans and always encouraged me with my new business of paper crafting. While on my last trip in March with my friend, she had to join us on facebook to follow our trip and was so excited to see our daily pics and felt like she was on the trip with us and every so often on the trip we would call her while driving down the highways... Was so glad that I got to see her on Saturday, April 27th and then literately talked to her at lunch time on Tuesday, April 30th as we hung up with our usual " I Love You" and "will talk to you soon"... never did I expect the call a few hours later to say she was gone... But the only comfort I had was knowing she was with Uncle Gary and Cousin Gary again as I know she deeply missed them. I can't imagine what Dina, Kimberly and Kristin are going through along with their spouses and children, but I have a pretty good idea as I have spent countless hours with Aunt Debbie either in person or on the phone. I will always hold all the memories near and dear to my heart and so glad I got to hug her a few days before her passing. Rest in Peace Aunt Debbie... Until we meet again!!! I literately just made her a card on April 30th and it was on the counter ready to be mailed out the next day and now, I have it sitting here with me as it was never mailed... (Included is the card I just made her prior to me writting my message in it).

Not many people come into your life and make you a better person. Debbie was one of those people. Her love and kindness for animals and people had no limits. The time we spent chatting and laughing in my pet store will be remembered forever. Each night as her and Gary left Apollo, they would drive past Patsy’s Pet Stop to see if I was still there. If I was, they’d stop and say “it’s late! go home now and be safe”. Because that’s the kind of people they were—Always looking out for others. I will miss my dear friend so much. I pray for the family to find Gods comfort and peace during this very difficult time, remembering how much Debbie was loved. Her memories will live forever in hearts. Rest in Gods Peace, my friend…

Oh Deb, my heart is so broken right now. I truly want to Thank You for being the kindest, most loving woman I have ever known. You have had that same smile on your face since the day I met you when I was a teenager. I will miss all our " speaker phone " conversations. I will miss Kim saying, Veesh let me put you on speaker, I have mom in the car. the 3 of us would just talk and laugh. I am going to miss that so much. There are so many things I can look back on, but there is one memory that will forever stay in my head, and truly shows what a beautiful positive light you always were. I was 17 years old and I just got my license . We were all out one night, the family and all your " adopted Totowa kids " and for some reason you needed me to drive one of the cars home, I cannot remember why, but you needed me too. You looked at me and was like Vic, you need to drive my Cadillac and I was like Deb, are you are nuts? That isn’t a car, that is a boat, I can’t drive that thing, I just can’t … You looked at me , giggled and was like , Oh yes you can honey, it’s just a car. you and I just kept going back and forth with each other until you handed me the keys and said, " You got this, just go slow and take your time . I remember being so nervous , but as Kim, Tania and I made it safely back to the house. I pulled in the driveway on Meadow, the 3 of us got out of the car and you looked at me and said. You see, I told you that you can do it. May that beautiful light you have always had in you, forever shine from the heavens above. You will always be loved and forever missed.

And she always took the time to ask about my life and my kids. She was one of the kindest, most genuine women I ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's amazing how you take a part time job at 19 years old and the owners and their family just stay with you for life. I love that I still know this family. Debbie had a Gold Heart and Vibrant Spirit that would lift anyone who needed lifting. Debbie had a Generous and Kind sole. I know for me she was a "Second Mom" but not only to me but to so many. I spent a lot of time at 1 Meadow as did a lot of others over the years we always felt welcomed and never judged. We had a lot of laughs, we cried some too but in the end we became an extended "FAMILY"! Debbie you were a TRUE Friend and I will miss our talks!! Dina, Kim and Kristin have HER same heart and spirit and will continue to remind everyone how special Debbie and Gary both were to the people of this community. And to the Potenzone Family just know you have another very special ANGEL watching over all of you. I LOVE YOU ALL!! Your "Sister" Laurie Proffitt aka BA I'm always here for you!!

We were on vacation in Canada and our dog got loose. Debbie had found out about our Boxer and her and her grandson Dante got in their car and drove around town at midnight looking for our dog. This was the kind of person she was, always trying to help someone. She will be greatly missed.
