Maroun, Nabih Hanna "Norman" age 79 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on March 20, 2024. Loving father of Gloria VanHouten and her husband Thomas of Rockaway, Joseph Maroun and his partner Cam Nguyen of North Carolina and Victor Maroun of Clifton. Former spouse of Christine (nee Kharlakian) Maroun of Clifton. Dear grandfather of Emily VanHouten, Meghan VanHouten, Zahra Maroun, Kian Maroun, Marie Maroun and Josie Maroun. Brother of Samira Haddad of Fair Lawn, Mahib Maroun of Paterson, Nazih Maroun of Paterson and Wajih Maroun of Ridgewood. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Lebanon, he came to the U.S.A. in 1963 settling in Florida before moving to Brooklyn, NY and then to Paterson NJ in 1968. He was a self employed Entrepreneur. Norman was a member of St. Ann's Melkite Catholic Church, Woodland Park. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and the gardens of his family. He built grape vines and cared for fig trees and his prize tomatoes. He was a jack of all trades and flipped houses before it became popular. He was a carpenter, a mason, a plumber, and an electrician. He had a keen sense of business and of the real estate market. Norman was kind, generous and loyal to his family and friends. He cared for everyone. He would give you the shirt off of his back and he was a very proud man. He loved his family deeply and he was very proud of his Lebanese heritage. He is now reunited with his parents Hanna and Nayleh, (nee Nahra), his brother Labib and his sister Samia Ghattas. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Service to follow at St. Ann's Melkite Catholic Church, Woodland Park at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
