Obituary of Irma Lopez

Lopez, Irma (nee Roman) age 86 of Paterson at rest in Clifton on February 23, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Carmelo Lopez (1989). Loving mother of Wanda Hopper of Paterson, Beltran Lopez of Paterson and Carlos Lopez of Hawthorne. Dear grandmother of David Joseph Hopper Jr. Great Grandmother of Victoria and Nathaniel Hopper. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, she came to the mainland in 1942 settling in Paterson. Irma was a Homemaker. She was a very active parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Paterson and was a volunteer for all church activities and fundraisers. She would visit fellow parishioners in the hospital. She walked every day. Irma loved to cook and was one of the best. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and floral gardens. Her backyard was like a paradise. She was a baker, and also enjoyed knitting and sewing. Irma would visit her sisters in Puerto Rico frequently. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
