Obituary of William Bucher

Bucher, William "Bill" age 90 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on February 5, 2024. Beloved husband of the late and former Teresa Zeliznak (2002). Loving father of Cheryl Aloia and her husband Bill of Wyckoff, William "Billy" Bucher, Jr. and his wife Ellen of Totowa and the late John Bucher (1985). Father-In-Law of Sharon Bucher of Ocala, FL.  Brother of Nancy Csaszar of SC, Peter Bucher of TN and the late Harold Bucher and the late Walter Bucher. Dear grandfather of Craig Bucher, William Aloia, Brianna Cohen, Christina Aloia, Johnny Bucher and Daniel Bucher. Great grandfather of C.J. Bucher, J.C. Bucher, Tate Bucher and Quinn Cohen. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and his loving caretaker Tellesia Bailey. Born in Paterson, he lived in West Paterson before moving to Totowa seventy years ago. He was a Master Welder for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Bill was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post #227, Totowa. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Riverview Park Fire Company in Totowa for many years and a member of the Totowa Republican Club. Bill was an avid fisherman who loved being on the water in his Grady White. He was also an avid deer hunter. He loved to travel. Bill was a kind and gentle man who always had a smile on his face. He was a production superintendent at Hercules Filter Corporation in Hawthorne from 1954-1965. He was then a welding inspector for the Buckeye Pipeline (Linden New Jersey to JKF Airport in Greenpoint Brooklyn) from 1965-1966. Following that, he was a Supervisor for Leslie & Elliott Co in Paterson from 1966-1975. From 1975-1985, Bill was self-employed at W. Bucher & Co. Welding Services in Totowa. Before retiring in 2005, Bill worked as a Master Welder for New Jersey Turnpike from 1985 - 2005. He loved his family, his friends, the Totowa Fire Department, the American Legion Post #227 and the town of Totowa. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or Riverview Park Fire Company, 438 Riverview Drive, Totowa, New Jersey 07512, would be appreciated.
