Obituary of Vicente Rivera Rosa

Rivera Rosa, Vicente "Papo" age 74 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on January 13, 2024. Beloved husband of the former Juana A. Huertas of Paterson. Loving father of Vincent Rivera of Paterson and Janette Silva and her husband Joao M. Silva of Woodland Park. Dear grandfather of Sebastian Rivera, Vincent Rivera, Joshua Rivera and Steven Silva. Brother of Nancy Rivera of Puerto Rico and Albert Rivera of Paterson. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and his beloved pet Chihuahua, Pablo. Born in Aguas Buena, Puerto Rico, he came to the Main land in 1967, settling in Paterson. He was a Hi Lo (Forklift) Operator for General Trading, Carlstadt for forty three years before retiring in 2020. Papo was an avid NY Yankee and NY Jets Fan, and he loved the game of baseball. He loved riding motorcycles and was a Partner in East Coast Super Bike repair shop with his son in Hawthorne. He was a member in the Hispanic MC Club, Paterson. He enjoyed tending to his lawn and his fish pond and was very proud of his home where he cherished time spent with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024 from 5:00-9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis , TN 38105.
