My family and I met Jimmy at Pococabana and knew him from 1962 to 1967. We will never forget him, his incredible talent and energy. You have not experienced show business until you have seen a show directed by Jimmy Festa. He could put the most painfully shy kid or anyone on the stage. He visited each table at meals at the lodge and took us on hikes. He will always be a light and a joy in my heart. Sincere condolences. He was a unique and wonderful person.

Jimmy Festa came to mind as I speaking to someone about a time my family went to the Pococabana ...it was the early 60's and I was little kid and I remember my Mom having a lot of fun on stage with Jimmy Festa. His name stuck in my mind all this time and I am now 65. My Mom is still alive and still remembers Jimmy Festa. God Bless him for making thousands of people happy and have fun. It was fun to see my Mom having a great time.

So sorry to hear about Mr.Festa. He was my dance instructor at Roosevelt School in Weehawken,NJ. This was in 1954-55. I was in the 6th. Grade. I always remembered how he gave us very young guys confidence about dancing with the girls. He was a wonderful man that I clearly remember even though 60 years have gone by! Regards.......FB.

Thank you Jimmy Festa for all the joy you brought children in directing
dancing and plays for the Weehawken School System.
I performed on stage long ago in the Skit "Good Old Summer Time".
Your shows brought a little bit of Broadway to our schools and are
very memorable to all. I also remember the dancing to "Yankee Doodle Dandy"
it is etched in my memory as one of my all time favorite childhood remembrances.
Rest well in peace.... Marilyn

To the family of James Festa,
I was saddened to hear of Jimmys passing. My family Jean Lessa, (organist at Holy Family Church Nutley NJ) Millie Duva (choir) Angela Mauriello (seamstress) who made all the costumes for the first Via Delorosa. All of whom have since passed away. (Jean is in a nursing home). My memories of Jimmy and all the hard work and time he put into making Via Delarosa will never be forgotten.
Well Jimmy, I'm sure most of the cast of Via Delarosa is looking forward to you putting on another show. Only this time our Lord will be portraying himself.
My deepest sympathy to the Festa family.
Sincerely meant,
Maria Duva Musco.

Me and my family went to Villa Roma every year for over 30 years. Jimmy was a great social director as well as a person. My mother, rest in peace, was in the Can-Can show with him and we have wonderful memories THANKS TO JIMMY. We love him alot and he will never be forgotten. Me and my brother went to Italy with him. My deepest sympathy for the family. We live in Brooklyn and do not drive. We would have loved to make the wake but it is difficult for us to travel. It will take over 5 hrs. with the subway and 2 Port Authority buses. We are near the Verrizano Bridge in Brooklyn. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest Condolences to the family of Mr. Festa. I was one of the many fortunate students to have learned dance and so much more from Mr. Festa. He helped me to believe in myself when I needed it most. He made such a wonderful and lasting impression on me. Words can never express his kind and encouraging spirit. I will never forget him. I wish I would have told him how much I appreciated him. May God rest his soul.

As a young girl in Weehawken, I was fortunate to have Mr. Festa as my dance teacher. He was a wonderful instructor, professional, and so nice. (I also had a crush on him). Because of him, I pursued dancing my whole life. He left quite a legacy. God bless you, Mr. Festa, you will be remembered always.

Mr. Festa was a wonderful man. I remember it was always an "event" each spring to see all the grammar school kids doing their dance routines. My mom took his ballroom class at the HS and everyone loved to watch him move soooo gracefully around the floor. He will be missed.

Jimmy was my friend, we worked together for many years. He was an extremely talented man. He was very generous with his time and encouragement. He touched the hearts of many. I watched him work magic with
his ability to teach. He made stars out the untalented. In my heart I know he is teaching dancing in heaven.
I feel honored to have been called his friend. R.I.P. my friend.
