Obituary of Julia Scancarella

Julia Scancarella, age 103, of Totowa passed into God's hands on November 27, 2023. Devoted wife of the late Jack Scancarella (1996). Julia was born in Lyndhurst and lived in Carlstadt all her married life. Julia was pre-deceased by her seven siblings and her grandson, Daniel Scancarella. She was survived by Neil D. Scancarella and his wife Kathy, of Naples, FL and Jacqueline Gerold and her husband Walter, of Totowa. She was the adoring Grandmother of Julia Mattar (Maroon), Christopher Gerold (Sandra), Marissa Hoehn (Christian), Denise Candido (Andrea), Neil Scancarella Jr., Jack Scancarella (Brie), and James Scancarella. Doting great-grandmother of Jacqueline and Leila Mattar; Gianna and Alanna Hoehn; Giacomo, Massimo, and Serafina Gerold; Leo and Matteo Scancarella; Azzuro and Alessandra Candido. Julia worked at Bamberger's and Macy's for over 40 years. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Carlstadt Friendship Club. Her joy and the joy of her family was spending Holidays, vacations, and summers at the beach together. She will be missed always. Memorial gifts to St. Jude Children's Hospital, in Julia's name, will be appreciated. Julia is in the care of Festa Memorial Funeral Home in Totowa, NJ. Viewing will be at 4-8 PM on Thursday, Nov 30. Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, Dec 1 at St. James in Totowa.
