Obituary of Alice D'Amelio-Cataldo

D'Amelio-Cataldo, Alice (nee Croissant) age 77 of Paterson at rest in Manahawkin on August 13, 2023.  Beloved wife of Emilio Cataldo of Barnegat and the late Charles Nunzio D’Amelio (1985).  Loving mother of Vito D'Amelio and his wife Christina of Manahawkin.  Adoring grandmother of Kailee, Jaelyn, Nunzio, and Santino D’Amelio. Dear sister of Fred Croissant of KY and the late Bernard Croissant of Paterson. Born in Paterson, she lived in Paterson for 71 years before moving to Barnegat in 2017. She waitressed at Teddys, Paterson, and the Goffle Grill, Hawthorne throughout and beyond High School. Finally retiring as a Supervisor for the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles, Wayne, in 2011.  Alice’s grandchildren were her life.  She was a great cook who never shared her entire recipe. Her sense of humor was only surpassed by her willingness to put others first.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday at 9:30 AM.  Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM.  Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.  Friends may visit Thursday 3:00 – 8:00 PM.
