Obituary of David W Buys, Sr.

Buys Sr., David W. age 74 of Montville at rest in Livingston on June 30, 2023. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Zeim) Buys. Loving father of David W. Buys, II of Montville and Jarret Buys of Montville. Dear brother of the late Marty Buys. Brother-in-law of Patricia Buys of Colorado & Debbie Drobenak and her husband Dave of Clifton. Uncle of Sara Buys, Derek Drobenak and Dana Drobenak. Also survived by dear friends, who are like family: Jay Tamburro and Michelle & Keith Gallas and their children Kevin, Maria and KJ and his beloved dog, Lily. Born in Paterson, he lived in West Paterson, before moving to Montville in 1975. He was a graduate of St. Bonavature High School, Paterson. He was a former parishioner of St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson, where he married his wife 49 years ago. He was a Salesman for SD Consumable Products, Montville before retiring. David was a parishioner of St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Fairfield and a 4th degree member of its Knights of Columbus Council #6380. He was also an avid reader and was a big sports fan and enjoyed playing basketball. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 9:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:15 AM. Cremation will be private at the request of the family. Friends may visit Sunday 3:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
