Obituary of Jeremiah Mc Farlane

Mc Farlane, Jeremiah "Jerry" age 83 of Totowa at rest in Hackensack on May 10, 2023. Dear son of the late Jeremiah Mc Farlane and the late Concetta "Jenny" (nee Giordano) Baer. Loving uncle of Bart Polizzotti and his wife Lori of Bradenton, Fl., Joseph Polizzotti and his wife Elizabeth "Bunny" of Saddle Brook, Jean Oviedo of Saddle Brook and the late Jeremiah Polizzotti. Grand uncle of Jayson, Justin and Darren Oviedo, Aimee, Joseph, Nicholas and Elizabeth Polizzotti, Jennifer Potter and Christopher and Matthew Polizzotti. Also surviving are five great nieces and great nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson for most of his life before moving to Totowa thirty-four years ago. Jerry was an Inspector for the Passaic County Utility Authority, Paterson before retiring in 1985. Prior to that, he was an employee for the Pfizer Corp., Clifton for many years. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a parishioner, lector and eucharistic minister at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. He was an Honorary Life, Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Council #6805 where he also served as Grand Knight and District Deputy. He was also an Honorary Life, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Stein Assembly, Clifton. Jerry was a longtime assistant for Mc Master's Florist in Paterson, West Paterson and Totowa for many years. He enjoyed to travel as well as going to the Jersey Shore. He often took trips to Atlantic City and Bethlehem, PA. He was a devout Catholic and loved all people. He was very well known in the community. He loved his family and would always be in contact with them. He was the glue of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. James R.C. Church, 32 St. James Place, Totowa, N.J. 07512 would be appreciated.
