Obituary of Robert Richard Thomas

Thomas, Robert Richard age 80 of Woodland Park at rest in Paterson on April 17, 2023. Loving partner of Catherine Pagano of Woodland Park. Dear father of Bernard Thomas of Woodland Park and Robert Thomas of Pequannock. Brother of Nancy DeNisco. Cousin of Denise Miller and her husband Frank of PA, Paul Young and his wife Beth of RI, and Raymond Young and his wife Maureen of WA. Godfather of Jacob and Nicholas Young. Uncle of Nicole DeNisco. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Elizabeth, then in Pequannock for 25 years before moving to Woodland Park in 1996. He was a Teacher for Passaic County Technical High School, Wayne, for 31 years before retiring in 1996. Mr. Thomas was a past County Commander of the American Legion and a current member of the American Legion Post 238, Woodland Park. He loved to ski, fish, and was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed carpentry. Robert was a Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam Era, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was involved in John Glenn's capsule recovery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls at 9:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday 3:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
