Obituary of Rufina G Festa

Festa, Rufina G. (nee Quiñe), age 88 of Lincoln Park at rest in Pequannock on April 4, 2023. Adoring daughter of the late Angelica Cotrina Berrospi and Pedro Rafael Quiñe. Dear sister of María Elvira y Clara, and the late Juana, Pedro José and Norberto. Devoted wife of the late Anthony Festa (1990). Loving mother of Mercedes del Carmen, Francisco Manuel, Jose A, and the late María Graciela. Beloved grandmother of Mercedes del Rosario, Raul Jean Pierre, Graciela, María Sofia, Ricardo, and Jason. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Born in Lima, Peru, Rufina later emigrated to the United States in 1976 on an au pair visa. She chose to marry and settle down in Lincoln Park, New Jersey, where she has lived the past 47 years. Rufina will be remembered for having an exemplary work ethic and a strong, compassionate heart. She worked for a total of 45 years at the Lincoln Park and Wayne View Nursing Homes as a certified nursing assistant. Going beyond the title of her job, she made it her life’s mission to not only take care of others, but to educate those she worked alongside, to treat with respect, empathy and compassion. Her final days were spent with dear friends and family who never left her side. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:00 PM.
