Obituary of Charles H Messenger

Messenger, Charles H. "Charlie" Sr., age 86 of Paterson at rest in Wayne on March 8, 2023. Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Dragone) Messenger. Loving father of Charlie Messenger and his wife Arlene, Mark Messenger, and Johnny Messenger. Loving grandfather of Kayleigh Messenger, Charles Messenger III, and Joseph Messenger. Adoring great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Janet Graniere. Born in Newark, he lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Paterson 61 years ago. He was a Sheriff's Officer for the Passaic County Sheriff's Department, Paterson for 20 years before retiring in 1998. Charlie is also a United States Marine Corp., Veteran serving in the Korean War. Cremation is private at the request of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, 295 Totowa Rd., Totowa on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 2:30 PM. Following the cemetery all are invited to a celebration of life at the American Legion Post #174, Wayne.
