Obituary of Ruth Diane Hollis

Hollis, Ruth Diane age 65 of Toms River at rest in Wayne on February 4, 2023. Dear daughter of the late Peter W. Sr., (2010) and the late Norma C. (nee Martin) Hollis (2017). Loving sister of Peter W. Hollis, Jr., of Newton. Ruth is also survived by many cousins. Born in Paterson, she lived in North Haledon for a year, then Paterson for 7 years, then Totowa for 53 years, before moving to Toms River 5 years ago. She was a clerk/verifier for the Passaic County Clerk's Office, Paterson, before retiring in 2018. Prior to that she worked as a receptionist and quality control clerk at Westwood/Burlington Industries, Paterson, as a secretary for the Totowa Board of Education, Totowa, as an administrative assistant for Marvel Manufacturing, Fairfield, and as a receptionist for the Neurology Group of Bergen County, Ridgewood. Ruth was a member of the American Legion Post 199, Hawthorne. She also loved going to Disney World and spending time at the Jersey Shore. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to any animal shelter and/or the Navy Museum, 736 Sicard St. S.E., Washington D.C. 20374, would be appreciated.
