Obituary of Joseph Porretta

Porretta, Joseph, age 72, at rest in Brookhaven, NY after a long illness on September 30, 2022. Loving husband of Kathleen Porretta of Shirley, NY. Dear father of Joseph Porretta and his fiancee Mary Klag of Dunedin, FL, Jaynie Brusco and her husband Michael of Totowa, and Jonathan Porretta of Seattle, WA. Adoring grandfather of Cheyann Brusco and Liliana Porretta. Loving son of the late Charles and the late Annette (nee DiNapoli) Porretta. Dear brother of Donna Giannisis and her husband James and Celeste Kirk and her husband Timothy. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews and a great-niece. Joseph was born in Passaic. He lived most of his life in Totowa before moving to Shirley, NY. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and was the Principal Probation Officer for the Passaic County Probation Department for many years before retiring. He was an avid NY Jet fan. He loved his dogs and enjoyed spending time talking on the phone connecting with his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Monday, October 10th, from 12-2 PM.
