Obituary of Joseph Campanella

Campanella, Joseph age 92 of Woodland Park at rest in Wayne on July 10, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Carmela (nee Convertino) Campanella (1995). Loving father of Maria "MaryLou" Plucinsky and her husband Robert of Fairfield and Ambrogio "Gino" Campanella and his wife Cynthia of Toms River. Dear son of the late Ambrogio and Maria Luigia (nee Grassi) Campanella. Adoring grandfather of Melissa Arrighetta and her husband Ryan of Hazlet, Steven Plucinsky of Fairfield, Joseph Campanella and his wife Monica of Ocean Gate, and Robert "Bobby" Plucinsky of Fairfield. Loving great-grandfather of Ethan and Nicholas Arrighetta and Ava Campanella. He is survived by sister in-law Anna Convertino, and brother in-laws Frank Morelli and Alfonso Veneziano, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his siblings; Anna Sgobba, Lucrezia Pace, Grace Villanova, Mary Greco, Cosmo Campanella, and Lucia Convertino. Born in Alberobello, Italy, he lived in Italy for 28 years before immigrating permanently to the United States and residing first in Endicott, NY, then Paterson, NJ before finally settling in Woodland Park in 1967. He was a textile printer for Como Textiles, Paterson and Brewster Finishing Co., Paterson for many years before retiring in 1994. Joseph loved to garden and make wine. He was an avid NY Mets fan and enjoyed spending time with his pet African Grey parrot, "Jo". Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. Friends may visit Tuesday 4-8 PM.
