Obituary of Dornice Barnes, Jr.

Barnes, Dornice, Jr., age 77 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on June 8, 2022. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Jaouen) Barnes. Loving father of Olivia A. Barnes. Dear son of the late Dornice and the late Ceola (nee Butler) Barnes. Brother of Geraldine Bankston, Bernadette Barnes Vaughn, Rosie Barnes and Antoinette Barnes Walker and the late Tyrone Barnes. Dornice is also survived by his grandpuppy, Denver "Buddy" Barnes and also his beloved friend Frank Green, who stayed by his side. Born in Alexandria, LA he lived in Paterson for most of his life. Dornice was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a truck driver for Aetna Chemical Corp., Elmwood Park, for many years before retiring. Mr. Barnes was a Deacon at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Passaic. He also loved the New York Giants and tending to his garden. Cremation is private at the request of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to a Homegoing Celebration on Wednesday June 15^th from 12-4 PM at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, with a military honors ceremony beginning at 3:15 PM followed by prayers.
