Aunt Nancy was a wonderful lady. Even though our visits were few and far between, she always made me feel like I was right at home and had never left. She was warm, loving, and always had a smile. I will miss our talks while sitting at grandma's table, her laugh that held nothing back, and her kiss on my cheek in her signature pink lipstick. I will miss her dearly, but I am happy in knowing she is in a better place.
I love you Aunt Nancy.

My Great-Aunt Nancy was one of the strongest women I have ever met. It's so difficult losing such a strong influence in our family. It's hard saying goodbye to part of a generation that put family before everything, but God. Aunt Nancy, thank you remembering me when I was deployed. Aunt Nancy, thank you for your hugs. The kind of hug that would tell me through and through that you loved me. Thank you for being a pioneer of our family, and for setting a standard for the women in our family to live up to; God, our family, and to love everyone. I miss you, Aunt Nancy. Rest in Heavenly Peace, and hug Grandma when you see her.

My Aunt Nancy, always with a smile and gentle way. Helped raise me and kept me facing forward. A joyful personality and model citizen. This world has too few like her.
I will miss my chats with my Aunt Nan.

Nancy,
Thank you for welcoming me into the family 20 years ago. I remember when I first met the family for Christmas dinner. I was given the honor of taking out the china from the cabinet. I was so afraid that I would break it but you reassured me everything would be ok. Thank you for all that you have done for Rick & me during our time together and most importantly for Ricky, Brandon & Shyia. You have always been there for them in so many ways including their Birthdays, School Events, Sporting Events and even thru there graduations. I know now that Ricky is at his end of college you will once again be there looking down on him with this great accomplishment in his life saying...Way to go Ricky Boy – I am so proud of you – Love Ya Mimi. Thank you for everything. We all will hold onto all the great memories. You will surely be missed. You’re Daughter-in Law Lonnie.

Hugs and Kisses
No matter the occasion, no matter the day
No matter if you were writing just to say ‘hey’
Every single card I ever got from you, just so I’d know,
you‘d end it with a simple phrase: “XO-XO.
“Happy birthday Ricky! or
“Were so proud you’d say
And always the same ending
“I love you so much you know,
Love Mimi, XO-XO.
“Happy Easter buddy! or
“Keep an eye on your crazy brother! you’d say
But always had the same ending
“I love you, that you know,
Love Mimi, XO-XO.
Hugs and Kisses. That’s what it stands for.
But for me, “XO-XO means so much more.
It’s funny how profound a couple letters can be,
But “XO-XO from you is the same as spelling “L-O-V-E.
Now this is my attempt at seeing if it has the same affect for me:
Mimi,
I know you’ve always been there for me,
And I know you’ll always continue to be,
I know when I feel weak, you’ll be there to give me strength
And when I come up short, you’ll be there to help me finish the length
I know when I need guidance, you’ll help me see,
And to help me the best ‘me’ that I know how to be.
There’s one last thing that I know,
And it’s that I love you Mimi,
Love Ricky
XO-XO.

Words will never be enough to explain and describe what a wonderful person you are. The many nights teaching this foreign child English and helping me with school work. There were the vacations to Wildwood Crest, Washington D.C. and we cannot forget the skiing trips where we would end up walking down the hill with our skiis on our shoulders (too scare to skii down). However, most memorable and important were all the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners we all shared as a family - Nancy, you are very, very special and dear to me. I will never forget you. Thank you for being you.
