Vaccarino, Giovanna (nee Amadio), 'Nonna" age 91 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on February 8, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore Vaccarino (1974). Loving mother of Anna Maria Nicosia and her husband John of North Haledon, Silvana Nicosia of Orlando, FL, and George Vaccarino and his wife Nadine of Hawthorne. Dear grandmother of Tina Baliman, Sal Nicosia, Janell Kerr, Deana Nicosia, Cassie Rodger, Tony Vaccarino, Michael Berger and the late John Nicosia (2017). Great grandmother of thirteen. Sister of Antoinetta Esposito of Haledon and Ada Napolitano of Clark. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Born in Vittoria, Prov. di Ragusa, Sicily, Italy, she came to the U.S.A. in 1966 settling in Paterson. She was a Seamstress for Barone Fashions, Paterson. Mrs. Vaccarino was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson. Her passion was to cook and feed her family and neighbors, who would gather every Monday for Meatball Monday. She was very devoted to her grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face, and was loved by many. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Saturday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:15 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
